But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth – Acts 1:8 .
This power of the kingdom is for a witness. What is the witness? The witness is to confirm the gospel!
God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will? - Hebrews 2:4
But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me – John 5:36 .
God always bears witness of the Word by manifesting Kingdom power. Jesus had a greater witness than John the Baptist. His works bore more witness of him than the witness of John. His works of signs, wonders, and miracles bore witness that the God, Father sent him. It bore witness that the Father was with him. It bore witness that He had the power backup of Heaven.
The fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily in Jesus Christ and we have this fullness in us – Colossians 2:9. The miraculous power of God can manifest on a consistent basis through us – the sons of God. This is because the supernatural is under the authority of the believer. God has already provided His power and placed it on the inside of every born-again believer. Now, it is up to us to release it. Understanding and using our authority is the key to seeing the miraculous in our lives and ministries.
“Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.” – Acts 3:1-8:
Peter did not ask God to heal the man. He had a deposit of Kingdom power on the inside of him. He said, “such as I have give I thee.” This does not mean that Peter was the source of this healing power. It came from God but Peter had it. He had the power of God in him because Jesus has given it to believers. When will you begin to manifest in that power?
“And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?” – Acts 3:12
It was God’s power that healed this man, but that power was under Peter’s authority. Peter said in verse 16 that it was faith in the name of Jesus that had wrought this miracle. It was not even because of his holiness! What does that do to your theology? The holiness of man is filthiness to God. Kingdom power operates through the sons of God not because of their holiness but because of the righteousness and abundance of grace they have in Christ Jesus.
Again, Peter didn’t ask God to heal this man. He believed that the Lord had already done His part and had placed that power within him. Now it was Peter’s responsibility to release that power, and that’s just what he did.
The Lord never told us to pray for the sick in the sense that we ask Him to heal them. He told us to heal the sick. We must operate in the authority He has already given us. We must speak to those negative circumstances and command them. They have no choice but to obey.
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen - Mark 16:15-20
Signs and wonders are to follow those that believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. As they go forth into the world and preach the gospel, God is committed to confirming His Word with signs following. This is exactly what happened with the first-century disciples. Peter even had people line the streets so that when his shadow touched them, they were healed (Acts. 5:15).
and how very great is his power at work in us who believe. This power working in us is the same as the mighty strength which he used when he raised Christ from death and seated him at his right side in the heavenly world (emphasis mine) – Ephes. 1:19-20 (TEV).
God has done His part and now it is up to you to do yours. You need to take the authority He has given you and become commanders instead of beggars. This truth will work for you as it has worked for those who have gone ahead of you. The same power that raised Christ from death is on the inside of you. Go and manifest it and become a world changer!
And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased – John 6:2. Many followed Jesus because of the miracles! They saw the power of the Kingdom in manifestation and they followed Him. May God cause you to manifest His power from today. However, you must press into that power! It just does not fall upon you like ripe mangos. You must recognize and give the Holy Spirit His place in your life and ministry. You must manifest boldness in the spirit by speaking and acting as God’s Spirit leads you.
