The sons of God and their inheritance

Everybody that has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior has become a son of God and is entitled to an inheritance in Him. However, there is an evil which I have seen under the sun. It is an anomaly! Many sons of God have turned to beggars and become victims of their situations and circumstances. They are being harassed continually by the enemy and they are running scared! They have turned more than ninety percent of their prayer times to fighting the devil – thereby magnifying him and his works instead of discovering and occupying their true places in Christ. I do not want to minimize the importance of spiritual warfare at all. However, if you do not know who you are, and your position vis-à-vis the enemy, you cannot war a good warfare. If you can find your way into the presence of God and remain there, you will not have battles to fight because He will take over your battles. The only fight you will have is the fight of faith (1 Tim. 6:12) – to stay in what Jesus has already accomplished on the cross instead of considering the situations around you. This is done by renewing your mind in the Word of God, speaking and acting on the Word and allowing yourself to be led by the Spirit of God.

Ecclesiates 10:5-7

5 There is an evil which I have seen under the sun , like an error which proceeds from the ruler:

6 Folly is set in great dignity and in high places, and the rich sit in low places.

7 I have seen slaves on horses, and princes walking like slaves on the earth.

Many sons are walking while slaves are driving the best cars and living in the best homes. The truly rich are sitting in low places. It is an abomination! People are destroyed for lack of knowledge – Hosea 4:6! Evidence of knowledge is in its application. Those sons of God who have knowledge and are not enjoying the benefits of sonship include those who have refused to act on the knowledge they have. Our faith must be backed up with works of faith. Our works of faith manifest when we recognize the grace of God and act upon it (2 Cor. 8:9, James 2:18, 20).

Acts 17:24-28 (TLB)

24 “He made the world and everything in it, and since he is Lord of heaven and earth, he doesn’t live in man-made temples;

25 and human hands can’t minister to his needs-for he has no needs! He himself gives life and breath to everything, and satisfies every need there is.

26 He created all the people of the world from one man, Adam, and scattered the nations across the face of the earth. He decided beforehand which should rise and fall, and when. He determined their boundaries.

27 “His purpose in all of this is that they should seek after God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him-though he is not far from any one of us. 28 For in him we live and move and are! As one of your own poets says it, ‘We are the sons of God.’

We are the sons of God! God created the heavens and the earth and everything found in them. They belong to him. He then created a son, Adam, and gave him dominion and authority over the earth. God put man in a special garden where He could fellowship with him. God wants sons who He can fellowship with. His purpose is that His sons will seek after Him in fellowship. By ourselves we can do nothing but in Christ Jesus we live, move and have our being. We are the sons of God.

The sons of God were designed to represent God on the earth. They are destined to be world changers. They are created to be commanders of situations and circumstances. They are to walk, talk and act like their Father, God.

Eph 5:1

THEREFORE BE imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father].)

Sons of God are the heirs of God (Rom. 8:17, Col.1:12). They have inheritances in God through Christ. Inheritance is received through a relationship. You do not have to work for it. If you work for it, it is no longer an inheritance. It becomes wages for your labor! Unfortunately, many sons of God are busy trying to find out what they can do to qualify for their inheritances. Perhaps you are asking the same questions. If you are, then the answer is “nothing”. Nothing? Yes, nothing!
