God Wanted Sons!

The first man that God ever created, according to the Bible, was Adam. The scriptures also make us understand that he was a “son of God”.

Luke 3:23-24, 38 – Jesus Himself, when He began [His ministry], was about thirty years of age, being the Son, as was supposed, of Joseph, the son of Heli, The son of Matthat, the son of Levi, the son of Melchi, the son of Jannai, the son of Joseph, The son of Enos, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God.

The thirty-eight verse of the third chapter of the Gospel of St. Luke tells us, among other things, that Enos was the son of Seth, Seth was the son of Adam and Adam was the son of God. God desires and hungers after sons with whom He can have constant and unhindered fellowship. He had fellowship with Adam. He came down in the Garden of Eden in the cool of the day to fellowship with His son Adam (Genesis 3:8). Adam was a son until sin was found in him and his fellowship with the Father was broken.

God needs sons through whom He can manifest Himself, His image and true likeness – His love, character, grace, wisdom, goodness, etc. – on the earth. He created us to show forth who He is that men may see it and praise Him. So, when you are born again, all these things are deposited in you. But are they in manifestation in your life as the fruit of your sonship? If your answer is yes, are they in manifestation to the degree that God desires?

Genesis 1:26-28 – God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth. [Psalms 104:30; Hebrews 1:2; 11:3.] So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them. [Colossians 3:9,10; James 3:8,9. And God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it [using all its vast resources in the service of God and man]; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and over every living creature that moves upon the earth.

God created His son Adam in His image and likeness. The Almighty, all-powerful, all-knowing  God created man and put in him every divine attribute to make him a ‘god’ on the earth – Psalms 82:6.  He blessed man and gave him complete authority and dominion over the earth. In order words, God made the earth the domain over which man is to rule and reign. He made him to dominate his environment. He created man to reign and dominate his circumstances and not to be a victim of them.

God made His sons to be priests and kings (Revelation 1:6) and He became the King of kings. The purpose of these kings (sons of God) is to represent and establish the rulership of God over the earth. Through them the manifold wisdom of God is to be made known to all, including the principalities and the powers (Eph. 3:9-10).

All that have received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior are His sons and heirs to all that He has. He needs them to dwell in his presence, focus on Him, become like Him, talk like Him, and act like Him.

Psalms 16:11 – You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. [Acts 2:25-28,31.]

God wants sons who will rest in His presence. There is no reasonable father who will not provide for his sons. The path of life leads to His presence and as His sons remain in His presence, their needs are met. Pleasures that endure are at His right hand and everlasting joy is in His presence.  God wants sons who will seek after Him even as they bear fruit, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it; using its vast resources in His service.

God wants those that will truly represent Him on the earth. Are you one of them?
